ZELL AM SEE
Above the low-key village of Kaprun, the Kitzsteinhorn glacier guarantees wide-open bowl skiing the year round, while the majority of Zell am See’s slopes sweep down through the trees, more reminiscent of classic American style ski areas. Together they comprise the Europa Sports Region, an ideal location for skiing. The area was one of the first resorts in Austria with descents recorded as far back as 1893. The authenticity of the area has been well preserved and offers a nice balance of local flavor and tourism with plenty of cozy faces, restaurants, markets and interesting shops. Skiing on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier can be skied all year round.
