Lausanne, charming city on Lake Geneva, welcomes you to start this wonderful tour covering world famous regions such as lake Geneva with Montreux and Chateau de Chillon, the Gruyère, Bernese Oberland with Gstaad and France with Chamonix and Mont Blanc.
Itinerary:
Day 1 Overnight flight New York to Zurich/Geneva

Day 2 Arrival
Individual transfer by train from any Swiss airport or the railway station of a boarder town to Lausanne.
Overnight in Lausanne.

Day 3 Full day to discover Lausanne
The geographical location of Lausanne could hardly be more picturesque. This, the Olympic capital, is built on three hills with the Lake of Geneva bathing its feet and a garland of vineyards around its shoulders. After the Roman period (museum), this city developed itself starting from the 6th century. Culturally an interesting place with numerous museums, do not miss the Olympic museum. Its cathedral is the nicest gothic monument of Switzerland. From Ouchy harbor many boats take you on excursions, also crossing the lake to Evian, known for its baths and casino. In 35 minutes you reach by train the international and cosmopolitan city of Geneva. And many more possibilities to enjoy yourself. Overnight in Lausanne.

Day 4 Lausanne - Vevey
By train you will reach the small town of Romont, built during the 13th century, still partially surrounded by a city wall. You will have time to visit the castle, which hosts the Swiss stained-glass windows museum. A comfortable train ride takes you to Bulle, main town of Gruyère. In the shadow of its 13th century castle why not enjoy a delicious fondue, a speciality made with the regional cheeses. The on a hill invigorating small town of Gruyère can be reached by bus. Walk through the street with the beautiful old houses and visit its castle. With the narrow-track train you will return via Moléson to Palézieux. Towards the end of this journey you will descend through the vineyards by the vineyards train approaching the shore of Lake Geneva.

Day 5 Vevey - Aigle
From Montreux via Glion and Caux experience an impressive ascent by cog railway train to Rochers de Naye (1970 m). View over the lake Geneva from the terrace of the restaurant situated in the cliffs. Admire the marmots in the small park as well as the alpine garden flowers before descending to Territet by funicular from Glion. The boat takes you to Château de Chillon (13th century), a fortress that deserves a visit. Then drive to Vevey or take the train to Aigle.

Day 6 Aigle - Monthey
From Aigle, a spectacular ascent by cog railway train takes you to the station of Leysin. A journey by bus and mountain train drives you to the village of Diablarets. At the foot of the mountain with the same name, a bus takes one on the top of the pass of Pillon before descending towards Gstaad, driving
by pastures and typical Bernese-Oberland chalets. After a stopover in this elegant station loved by celebrities and royals, the "Golden Panoramic" train allows one to comfortably visit the green valley of "Pays d’en Haut". A long underground tunnel, then direction Lake Geneva and city of Montreux by many winds with the Alps in the background.

Day 7 Monthey - Monthey
From Martigny the exceptional Express du Mont Blanc takes you to Chamonix in France. An adventurous journey. The train crosses the wild gorges of the Trient valley, with ripping rivers and welcoming villages. This at times impressing and romantique journey ends at the foothills of raging mountain peaks crowned by the Mont Blanc (4810 m). In Chamonix you will have time to visit the Alpine museum covering the history of this high altitude place of alpinism and a number of different transportation means will allow you to admire the glaciers and the rocky peaks from closer up. Same return route. Overnight in Monthey.

Day 8 Departure
Individual transfer to any Swiss airport or railway station of a border town.

Day 3 Full day to discover Thun and Bern
From your hotel directly situated at the lake, you can take numerous boats that connect all villages and towns on its shore. The town of Thun is only a few minutes away by bus. Its castle, its museum, its park, a great city to visit. In only 20 minutes you can reach the capital of Switzerland, Bern. The old town with its 17th and 18th century houses is worthwhile seeing. Facades with lots of flowers, fountains with sculptures of personalities, elegant shops, contribute to the charm of this city. Etc.

Day 4 Hilterfingen - Iseltwalt
The bus takes you along the lake of Thun to Interlaken, by a narrow track train you ascent to Lauterbrunnen. From here begins the excursion to the high mountain glaciers of Switzerland. An unforgetable event is this train ride through the famous Eiger North Face to the highest situated railway station of Europe, the Jungfraujoch at 3454 m.
From the platform of the restaurant "Top of Europe", as well as numerous other attractions, you ascend by the fastest Swiss elevator to the terrace of the Sphinx at 3571 m. From here you get an immense breathtaking view over the glacier of Aletsch surrounded by over 4000 m high peaks. This excursion will pass by the famous resorts Wengen and Grindelwald. From Interlaken, the bus takes you to the hotel at the lake of Brienz.
Overnight in Iseltwalt.

Day 5 Iseltwalt - Giswil
By bus you will go back to Interlaken and by train along the lake of Brienz to the town with the same name. On the way you will arrive at the entrance of the open air museum of rural habitat in Ballenberg. With almost 100 original century-old buildings from all over Switzerland, "historical" gardens and fields, demonstrations of typical crafts, many special events and 250 native farmyard animals, Ballenberg creates a vivid impression on rural life in bygone days. Ballenberg is in fact absolutely unique. A bus will pick you up at the exit. Back to Brienz, a summery town, which conserved its rural secret and the big center of sculpture on wood. Arriving in Meiringen and continuing to your destination by train.
Overnight in Giswil.

Day 6 Giswil - Lucerne
The train of Brünig takes you to the harbour of Lucerne. You will board one of the boats of the fleet of the Lake Lucerne, that takes one to the high places of the Swiss history. In Vitznau a lovely cog railway train takes you to the top of the Rigi Kulm at 1797 m. You will have enough time to enjoy the wide reaching view over the Swiss middleland plateau all the way to the Jura Alps. You will see numerous lakes at the foot of this peak. It is by another train that you descend on the opposite side towards the railway junction center Arth Goldau. Continuing by train you will travel along the lake of Zug – charming town, that you may want to visit – before returning to Lucerne.

Day 7 Full day to discover Lucerne
The activities in Lucerne are multiple. Visit of the old town, of the covered wooden bridge over the river Reuss, of the Swiss transport and communication museum, a cruise on the Lake of Lucerne, by cable car to the Pilatus etc.

Day 8 Departure
Individual transfer from Lucerne to any Swiss airport or railway station of a boarder town.
