| Snow might be the exciting focus of your winter holiday in New Zealand, but beyond the mountain you'll find many other things to do, as well as plenty of après-ski fun. Every one of New Zealand's commercial ski fields is supported by a year-round adventure environment. Bungy jumping, jet boating, rafting, kayaking and hiking are some of the more active options. Restaurants, clubs and designer shopping will appeal to those who want to save their energy for the slopes. Getting to New Zealand- Qantas attempts to get to your heart by way of your stomach. As soon as you reach altitude you are served a delicious meal with a selection of complimentary wines. Each seat in economy class has a winged head rest and footrests. Once the meal is served the movies begin. You have time to enjoy both and still get a good six hours of sleep before arriving in Auckland the following morning, feeling refreshed rather than lagged. The icing on the cake: you will be able to collect your frequent flyer miles on American Airlines, US Airways, Continental and more! Exchange Rate- Costs of international travel can add up. Fortunately there are two things in New Zealand which work to your advantage. One of them is the exchange rate, which at the present time is 1USD= 1.5 NZD. The second benefit is that you actually get more bang for your buck as pricing in NZD is comparable to what you would find in USD. A fine meal runs about $30NZD, and even better, tipping is discouraged! Thats right, all factors considered, Americans get approximately 35% more for every dollar spent! |
