| Day 1: Flight from U.S.A. to Munich.
Day 2: Staying the 1st night in Alpbach. You get the detailed information at the 1st night accommodation.
Day 3: Alpbach
Route A:
Gratlspitz, walk time approx. 7 hours (moderate to difficult)
From the center of Alpbach take trail A2 - past the Hotel Post - follow the street until the Bischofen Farm - turn left onto trail A6 - road to the Bischoferalm - continue trail A18 - past Hauser Alm to Holzalm. Then take trail B28/10 to the Gratlspitz (peak). Descend along the ridge on trail A27 to Hausbergalm and Hösljoch. Take trail A23 past the Thaler Farm and the Jausenstation Zottahof - back to Alpbach.
Route B:
Farmkehralm-Schützensteig (A16) walk time approx. 5 hours (easy).
Set off in Inneralpbach - past Gasthof Leitner - on into the Greitergraben (path A16) - along the track leading past the Auer and Greitalm - to Jausenstation Farmkehralm (path A40) - Continue on path A37 as far as the Farmkehralm (A40) - carry on along A37 to the Farmkehr-Hochleger - turn left onto the Schützensteig - follow path A12 down to the Greiter Eck - then take the road downstream back to the Inneralpbach.
Overnight in Alpbach
Catered huts: Bischofer Alm, Holzalm, Zottahof, Gasthof Leitner, Farmkehralm.
Tip: Visit the Museum on Alpine Farmers Inneralpbach - open from the end of May - mid of October (closed on Tuesday/Wednesday/ Friday).
Day 4: Alpbach-Reith im Alpbachtal
Route A:
Grosser Alpbachtaler Höhenweg, walk time approx. 2.5 hours (easy)
Set out from the center of Alpbach - past the Hotel Post - follow the street until the Bischofen Farm - turn left - follow path R20 along to Gasthof Pinzgerhof - at last follow the road direction to Alpsteg and Reith im Alpbachtal.
Route B:
Weidersbergerhorn - Reither Kogel, walk time approx. 3.5 hours ( moderately to easy)
Ascent with the gondola up to the Wiedersbergerhorn - follow path A40 and then path R30 to the Kohlgrubenalm - continue along the carttrack R19 to the Hochlindalm - on as far as the Hechenblaikenalm - turn left onto path R16 and make your way over the Gumpoltkopf to the Kerschbaumer Sattel - cross the road - past the Kupfnerhof on path R12. Turn off to the right - before the transmitting station - path R11 - continue onto Gasthof Nisslhof and to the top station of the Reither Kogel gondola. Descent with the gondola to Reith. Please note: voucher included one ascent and descent with the Alpbach valley lifts.
Overnight in Reith im Alpbachtal.
Catered huts: Gasthof Pinzgerhof, Scheffachalm, Nisslhof, Gasthof Hornboden, Wiedersbergerhorn Hütte.
Tip: Visit the Sennerei Reith im Alpbachtal (in the center next to the Gasthof Dorfwirt). Products: cheese, bacon, schnapps, etc.
Day 5: Reith im Alpbachtal - Brixlegg - Rattenberg/Radfeld
Route A:
Reith - Matzenpark-Castle path, walk time approx. 5 hours (moderately easy)
Make your way from the Tourist Office in Reith i.A. - until Seerain - turn left and follow path B5 to Schloss Lichtwehr - set off for a stop in Rattenberg - some nice glass shops and cultural sightseeings will await you.
Overnight in Radfeld.
Catered huts: restaurants along the routes.
Tip: Discover the famous and historic town of Rattenberg (tip: special glass exhibitions at Kisslinger crystal glass).
Day 6: Radfeld - Kramsach
Route A:
Kramsach-Voldöpper Spitze, walk time approx. 2.5 hours (moderate)
Start from Gasthof Krummsee - bear left to the Stögerhof - up to the forest path - until path No.3 - to the left - crossing the forest road twice - turn right and follow path No.6 - to the Voldöpper Spitze (1,510m - extremely beautiful view!)
Descent: down on the east side - bear left - descent along the path to the forest road - carry on the left - Brandenberg sawmill (bus stop) - go back to Kramsach by bus.
Route B:
Kramsacher Rundwanderweg (round hike), walking time approx. 5 hours (moderately easy)
Path No.1 - accessible from every part of the village - takes you to the best-known sights in Kramsach like the Museum of Tyrolean Farms, Waidach Chapel, model cemetery...
Overnight in Kramsach.
Tip: Visit the Museum of Tyrolean Farms in Kramsach - Tirols biggest outdoor museum! (you willl find a voucher in the enclosed envelope for entrance to the museum)
Day 7: Kramsach - Brandenberg
Route A:
Tiefenbachklamm, walk time approx. 3 hours (moderate).
Set off at Gasthaus Mariatal and either cross the Siegmundsteg (footbridge) or take the road upstream over the Mariatal bridge. Cross over the road, then walk up the forest path for about 100 meters, before turning right at the bend, meeting up with path No.7 - after 1 hour you rejoin the road - cross over the latter and follow the Triffsteig through the Tiefenbach gorge - after 1 hour you reach the Jausenstation Stegerstall (mountain café) - make your way along the road to Brandenberg.
Route B:
Kramsach-Pletzach-Kreuzeinalm-Aschau, walking time approx. 6 hours (moderate).
Set off from the bottom station of the Sonnwendjoch chair-lift - bearing left - footpath to the Bayreuther Hütte - Kaltwasser-Bründl - turn off to the left - walk on to the "Schöne Aussicht" - "Pletzachgatterl" - "Pletzachalm" - pastures on the "Urzein" - Keep on the path - "Kreuzein-Rosskogl" - down to the "Hörndl" - carry on to the "Kreuzeinalm" (1610m) - take the gravel path (AV411 - pastures on the "Labegg" and "Eilalm" - as far as the Brandl farm - turn right and follow path No.13 to Gasthaus Haaser.
Option: Sonnwendjochhaus - Zireiner See-Bayreuther Hütte-Sonnwendjochhaus, walk time approx. 4.5 hours (moderate to difficult). This route is only possible, if the Kramsach mountain lifts are operating (depending on weather etc.) Ascent with the Kramsach mountain lifts - make your way from the Sonnwendjochhaus - to the Rosskogel saddle - past the Rosskogel - over the Rossweis - to the club path AV 401 - to the lake Zireiner See. On the west shore off the lake - turn left and continue as far as a spring - walk to the Zireiner Alm - follow the gravel path - to the right - until reaching the bend - turn off here - make your way along the track to the Bayreuther Hütte. Set off from the Bayreuther Hütte to the Bergalm - along the path to the Zireiner Alm - turn right - follow path No.11 - past the Latschenbründl - almost the same altitude - until you reach the Sonnwendjochhaus - descend with the Kramsach mountain lifts. Alternative: descend from the Bayreuther Hütte to Kramsach (foot paths no. 20, 10, 9) - approx. 2 hours walk. Please note: ascent and descent with the Kramsach mountain lifts is not included!
Overnight in Brandenberg.
Catered huts: Jausenstation Stegerstall, Anderl's Almhütte, Gasthof Kaiserhaus, Bayreuther Hütte, Bergalm.
Tip: Take a picture from the majestic Kaiserklamm narrow gorge (start from the Gasthof Kaiserhaus - only 15 minutes away).
Day 8: Brandenberg - Breitenbach
Route A:
Blessenberg, walk time approx. 5 hours (difficult)
Start at the Gasthof Kink - follow path No.19 - direction Jocheralm - Blessenberg (1,743m) - further on to Aschajöchl - turn right into path No. 20 to Ruraalm - Grub - path No.3 direction center of Breitenbach. Only for experienced hikers!
Route B:
Jocher-Kapelle/Berglsteinersee, walking time approx. 3 hours (easy)
Start at the Gasthof Kink - Joch - turn right and follow path No.19 - direction chapel Jocher-Kapelle - turn right into path No.10 - direction Lake Berglsteinersee - follow path No.11 and 18 - direction center of Breitenbach.
Overnight in Breitenbach.
Catered huts: Gasthof Kink, Gasthof Berglsteinersee
Tip: Take a refreshing bath in the idyllic Lake Berglsteinersee!
Day 9:
Transfer to Munich or Munich airport via train.
Depending on your flight schedule an overnight may be necessary. Stay in Munich a couple of nights it's a great city with a lot to do and see.
