Zermatt's Ski Areas
Access
Zermatt's winter sports area covers an area from the Rothorn (3103 m) and the Gornergrat (3089 m) to the Klein Matterhorn (3820 m) and Schwarzsee (2583 m). It connects from the Klein Matterhorn to Breuil-Cervinia / Valtournenche and Val d'Aoste.
There are three ways for skiers and snowboarders to reach Zermatt's winter sports area.
* Access to the Rothorn winter sports area and the free-ride Stockhorn area is via the Rothorn resort station.
* The Gornergrat winter sports area is reached via the resort station of the GGB Gornergrat-Monte Rosa transport system.
* The Matterhorn Express takes winter sports enthusiasts from the resort station of the Klein Matterhorn system to Schwarzsee or the Klein Matterhorn, connecting with Breuil-Cervinia (Italy).
The electrically-powered buses serve all 3 resort stations. In winter the bus service is included in the ski-pass .

Matterhorn glacier paradise
«Crown of Switzerland»
Klein Matterhorn is the highest sightseeing point in Europe, which is accessible by cableway! There is a yellow-green electric bus leaving at the entrance of Zermatt, if arrival by shuttle bus from Täsch or from the train station in Zermatt, to the bottom station of Matterhorn glacier paradise. A gondola with eight seats takes you up to the first middle station called Furi. A cableway for 120 people continues to station Trockener Steg, where you'll find a lovely restaurant. The highest cableway in Europe transports people up to the Klein Matterhorn (3'820 m / 12'529 ft) to a world of mountains, glaciers and permanent snow. The tour from Zermatt to Matterhorn glacier paradise takes about 40 minutes.

Attractions
Highest sightseeing platform in Europe
An elevator, which is built into the mountain, transports visitors to the highest sightseeing platform in Europe. A breathtaking 360° panoramic view on numerous giants of the Alps, all over 4000 m high, can be admired in all their glory from the platform on top of Klein Matterhorn.
The worlds' highest «Glacier Palace»
At an altitude of 3820 m / 12'529 ft and 15 meters below the surface of the glacier, the highest «Glacier Palace» in the world in Matterhorn glacier paradise, and the glacier itself with its deep crevasses, can be explored in a very spectacular way. |

The Glacier Palace - Klein Matterhorn
Visit the world's highest glacial palace at an altitude of 3810 m. above sea-level.
Admission free. Open from 09:00 to 15:45.
